Alan Banov ...
Mr. Banov wrote the chapter on Disability Discrimination for the Maryland State Bar Association’s Maryland Employment Law Deskbook, which was published in 2014, and he revised the chapter for the 2016 edition of the MSBA Maryland Employment Law Deskbook.
In November 2015 Mr. Banov spoke at a seminar on the Essentials of Maryland Labor & Employment Law, sponsored by Maryland State Bar Association, on two topics: "2014-2015 Supreme Court Cases on Employment Discrimination" and "Recent Developments in Disability Discrimination Law in Maryland."
In June 2012, Alan attended the national convention of the National Employment Lawyers Association (NELA) in San Diego. Attending the seminars at these conventions is always educational. In San Diego he was privileged to hear Prof. Anita Hill speak. Afterwards, she kindly agreed to be photographed with him and his partner Sandi Cave.
He is still a member of the Board of the Metropolitan Washington Employment Lawyers Association.
Alan is still rated A.V. by Martindale-Hubbell, and has now been rated “A.V. Preeminent.” Martindale describes the rating as follows: “*The AV® Preeminent Rating™ is the pinnacle of professional excellence earned through a strenuous Peer Review Rating process that is managed and monitored by the world’s most trusted legal resource: Martindale-Hubbell®.”
He continues to mediate cases for the Superior Court of the District of Columbia and the Montgomery County Office of Human Rights.
